Business on the Green 2016
The day dawned clear, bright and very EARLY on Friday, June 17, 2016 for the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce’s annual “Business on the Green”. Held at beautiful Tiburon Golf Club, around 300 Chamber members teed off at either 7:00 am or 12:30 pm for two flights of fun and fellowship (and maybe a little business).
As golfers began to arrive, the Chamber’s legendary-though-now-retired PR ace, Larry Gomez, returned to the microphone to welcome and instruct attendees and to thank the many sponsors whose generosity make this day possible.
Along with Larry Gomez, Chamber President and CEO David G. Brown, Dr. Harris Frankel of Nebraska Medicine, Harlan Falk of Great Western Bank, Diana Tedrow of Cox Business and Tiburon’s own Matt Wollman spoke to the golfers briefly and then the carts hit the course for the first flight.
The cool morning gave way to a rather hot afternoon but, from my perspective, everyone was genuinely enjoying the golf, the outdoors and the cold beverages. Personally, I always enjoy working again with Larry, chatting with everyone and playing music to golf by.
Thanks to generous food & beverage sponsors, we were well fed and watered in the food court. By the smiles everywhere, it was obvious that all were enjoying this break from a regular Friday’s business.
