Gross Catholic High School Trivia Night Fund Raiser
The 6th annual Trivia Night fund raiser was held Saturday evening, February 16 in the Daniel Gross Catholic High School gymnasium. This annual event benefits the football, cheerleading and academic decathlon programs at Gross and has become a highly-anticipated activity. (In the spirit of full disclosure, my wife Barb is the school’s Science Dep’t. chair, so you could say that I have a vested interest in Gross High School.)
Enthusiasm was high as Gross students, faculty, families and other supporters packed the 78 tables of eight in the gym. Almost 700 Gross HS supporters enjoyed terrific fellowship, food, beer and margaritas while Gross grad and well-known broadcast personality and Husker reporter Sean Callahan tested the crowd’s knowledge of Gross HS fun facts and various sports, music and entertainment trivia.
Event coordinator Tim Johnk and his teams had the gym and tables nicely decked out with decorations, nostalgic photos, munchies and other memorabilia to get the audience in an appropriately festive mood. By the smiles on everyone’s faces, Trivia Night is obviously a favorite event and contributes to the warm, family feel of Gross High.
Midwest Sound & Lighting was again a proud sponsor of Trivia Night. We employed two pairs of JBL Vertec VRX932 speaker cabinets, two Face power amplifiers, a Yamaha MG series mixer, Rane stereo equalizer, Drawmer compressor/limiter and Shure wireless microphones. It was quite gratifying to have so many attendees rave about the crystal-clear sound in the gymnasium, a difficult task for less sophisticated loudspeakers.
Midwest Sound & Lighting would like to congratulate Gross Catholic High School (Class B State Football champions, BTW!) on another fun and successful Trivia Night. We look forward to next year’s event!
Peace, Love, out,
