Century Link Center Audio System Maintenance
“Midwest Sound & Lighting is well known for it’s focus on system repair and attention to detail. Because of that reputation Midwest was selected as the most qualified company to analyze and diagnose problems with the sound system in the Century Link Center Arena.
The system includes a large BSS digital signal processing system, Crown amplifiers and loudspeakers from JBL, EAW, Community and Meyer. The main arrays in the system include Meyer MSL-4, CQ and subwoofer cabinets. As part of the analysis, data from every loudspeaker in the system (more than 150 of them) was gathered including full range frequency response, distortion and identification of any abnormalities.
Part of the work included repair of any devices found to be defective. A wireless acoustic probe and several types of precision measurement software and devices were used. Greg Rieger of Midwest supervised the testing of the electronics and DSP software while Tim Burkhart completed the acoustical performance measurements. Jeremy Ehrig was responsible for operation of the wireless acoustic probe instruments and assisted with testing system connectivity.
