On Thursday, March 14, 2013 over 500 Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce members gathered in the newly-remodeled Ramada Plaza on 72nd St. to honor Larry Gomez, the retiring Director of Small Business Services, for his 36 years of service to the Chamber and the business community. Speakers included Chamber President and CEO David G. Brown and Mayor Jim Suttle, who signed a proclamation and gave Larry the key to the city. Larry then introduced his family and shared some thoughts and stories about his time in the Chamber. As Larry concluded his remarks and left the podium, David Brown summoned Larry’s wife Linda and his grandkids to the stage, where they held one final ribbon for Larry to cut; this one to his retirement.  All in all, it was a very appropriate and fitting tribute to a good friend I’ll miss working with.

Midwest Sound was delighted to provide crystal-clear audio for this joyful occasion and joins Mayor Suttle, David Brown and Larry’s friends and family in wishing him many great years of retirement bliss.

To end on a personal note, I thank Larry for his high professional standards, his great sense of humor and for his friendship.

Peace, Love, out-

JR
