The 11th annual Millard Business Association Gala was held at Georgetown Club on Thursday, April 24th. The theme was “The Roaring Twenties” and the event began with cocktails and a silent auction at 5:30pm, followed by dinner, raffle ticket sales and an awards ceremony. Attendees included Mayor Jean Stothert, her husband Joe, Millard Business Community Foundation President Steve Anderson, Dee Hankins, Keo Jorgenson and other MBA officers, the award nominees, several other elected officials and of course, a couple hundred MBA members.

The emcee, Michael Lyon (the voice of NPR’s Morning Edition) was a consummate professional and started the awards portion of the evening by singing a great rendition of, “It Had to Be You”. From there, Michael and a succession of MBA members and executives spoke of their deep appreciation of the many blessings of doing business in Millard and shared some historical perspective of Millard’s early years and its continuing evolution and growth.

Among the awards presented were: Millard Citizen of the Year (Justin Lorimer of RE/MAX Results), Millard Large Business of the Year (Super Saver, Millard), Millard Small Business of the Year (Corpuz Family Dentistry), Millard Entrepreneur of the Year (B2 Interactive) and Millard Business Professional of the Year (Ed Leistad of Safeguard Printing). Six scholarships were awarded to several deserving Millard students as well, with each expressing much gratitude to their families and the Foundation as they graciously accepted their scholarships.

It all made for an exceptionally enjoyable event and evening. Midwest Sound & Lighting is a proud sponsor of the Millard Business Association Gala and provided all audio and video production services. We highly value our membership in the Millard Business Association and look forward to next year’s Gala.
