On Thursday evening, March 13th, The Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce held its annual Grand Giveaway at the LaVista Convention Center. This year’s theme was outer space, and several of the SCCC staff showed the spirit of the event by dressing in authentic uniforms right out of the 60’s TV show, “Star Trek” (see the attached photo of SCCC event director Annisa Visty-Withrow and office manager Shelly Stotts). The silent auction was very well attended, with folks checking out the vast array of desirable prizes running from a dinner date with 7 Sarpy County mayors to various sports memorabilia, home electronics and other valuables.
Following a delicious meal and remarks from Sarpy County Chamber President Karen Gibler and emcee Martie Cordaro of the Omaha StormChasers, the live auction was held in the ballroom, with items such as an autographed Creighton basketball and Husker football tickets prompting much spirited bidding.
