St. Peter Church, 2706 Leavenworth St. in Omaha, is a Catholic Church that is enjoying a strong resurgence in popularity and attendance, largely due to the inspired leadership of Fr. Damien Cook and a return to the traditional celebration of Mass. St. Peter Church has been completely refurbished and restored by Conrad Schmitt Studios, Inc. and from the shining marble floors to the blue and starry ceilings, the visual effect is both reverent and awesome.
Another significant part of the recent renovation is a brand new sound system installed by Midwest Sound & Lighting. The audio system employs the Q-Flex 64 steerable line array speaker system from Tannoy and a large compliment of Earthworks and Audix microphones, enabling the congregation to clearly hear The Word. While barely noticed visually, the Tannoy speakers provide evenly-dispersed and clearly intelligible sound throughout the restored and highly reverberant Sanctuary. St. Peter Church is among the very first North American installations of the astounding Tannoy Q-Flex 64 speakers, by the way.
Symetrix DSP units provide mixing interlinked between the loft and main audio racks with Dante networks. Several models of Crown amplifiers (including the new Crown DCI) deliver plenty of power for loudspeakers throughout the church. Another significant detail is regulated, clean and dedicated power provided for the audio system via Middle Atlantic isolation transformers and Surgex series mode surge protection devices.
Midwest Sound & Lighting congratulates the clergy and congregation on the stunning, comprehensive renovation of St. Peter Church and is grateful for their trust and business.
